A Collage of Love

The Claddagh is the traditional Irish symbol for love and marriage. The hands of the Claddagh are thought to represent trust and friendship, the heart is, of course, the representation of love, while the crown stands for loyalty and fidelity.

Wearing the Claddagh

The meaning of the Claddagh extends to the hand on which it's worn as well as the direction in which the crown is facing. In case of a married or engaged person, the Claddagh is worn on the left hand with the crown pointing away from the person's heart.
